The Jewish nation will also undergo many changes
before the arrival of the Moshiach [Hazrat Mahdi (as)]. The number of Torah
scholars and students will decrease. A large portion of the Jewish people will
leave the fold of Judaism, and those who remain true to the faith will be
dubbed foolish. The nation as a whole will be plagued by troubles of all kinds.
The master Daniel explained to us what God
informed him: that when the exile
lengthens and the troubles afflict us continually, many will become
disconnected from the [Jewish] religion. Doubt will enter their hearts, and
they will go astray because of their perception of our weakness and the
might of those who rise against us and their power over us. [Nevertheless,] a
small portion of people will neither doubt nor lose their faith, [as Daniel]
said, “They will be clarified and cleansed and refined by many; and the wicked
will act wickedly, and none of the wicked will understand, and the wise will
understand” (Daniel 12:10).
