In fact, the Moshiach
[Hazrat Mahdi (as)] will not even have to wage conventional warfare against the
enemies of the Jewish nation.
Among the wonders attributed to the Moshiach
[Hazrat Mahdi (as)] is that he will fight
his wars without exertion and destroy his enemies with neither sword nor spear.
This difference is attributed to the Moshiach [Hazrat Mahdi (as)], as it
says, “He will strike [the wicked] of the world with the rod of his mouth, and
with the breath of his lips he will slay the wicked” (Yeshayah 11:4), which the Sages explained applies to the War of Gog
U’Magog.
