Allah promised King David
that his progeny would rule the Jewish people forever. Therefore the Moshiach
[Hazrat Mahdi (as)] must be a descendant of King David.
Your house and your kingdom
will remain steadfast forever before you; your throne will remain steadfast forever.
[Shmuel II 7:16]
Included in this principle is the fact that the Jewish nation will never have another king other than a descendant of
King Shlomo of the House of David.
